The Data Management Team Lead is responsible for the overall Data Management activities within assigned projects, for a team of 5-8 data managers. The successful candidate will supervise data management activities including data transfers, sample tracking, programming and discrepancy management. Furthermore, the incumbent will assist with development and maintenance of data management documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training material.


  • Act as Data Management Project Lead on assigned projects; responsible for the completion of all Data Management activities as per Scope of Work; on time and on budget;
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams, including Sponsors, for various activities of assigned projects;
  • Satisfy customer requirements as per Scope of Work and ensure compliance to protocol, as well as applicable regulatory guidelines and SOPs;
  • Prepare, review and update various project-related Data Management documents (SOPs, DTAs, etc.);
  • Ensure Quality Control of production tools;
  • Provides coaching to team members to develop their abilities.


  • Minimum requirement Bachelors Degree in Biology, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent; Masters preferred;

Main Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant experience in data management or bioinformatics; industry experience preferred;
  • 2 years of direct management experience;
  • Knowledge of programming language like R, SQL, Python, or SAS;
  • Experience of data management systems an asset (SAS, JMP, LIMS, LabKey, etc.);
  • Knowledge of immunology assays and/or proteomics is an asset;
  • Fluent written and oral English language communication skills;
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner;
  • Excellent planning/organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.
