CellCarta, a global research organization in the biopharmaceutical industry, is seeking a full-time Molecular Technician at their Naperville Illinois location. We offer services on a global scale through our labs in the US, Canada, Belgium, China and Australia, where we have expertise in histopathology, immune monitoring, proteomics, genomics and sample logistics. We support pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the research and development of new innovative drugs for the treatment of cancer and immune diseases.

CellCarta leverages its strong experience in cancer research to support a full spectrum of biomarker services, including biomarker discovery in the research phase, tumor profiling and biomarker monitoring in clinical trials and registration studies for companion diagnostics, patient diagnoses and the development of new techniques and tests for tumor analyzes and the prediction of treatment response. The company is the bridge between research, clinical studies and diagnoses.

In this position you will be jointly responsible for the performance of molecular testing within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will perform molecular analyses utilizing the latest technologies.


  • Perform specialized molecular analyzes of various complexity and on different platforms
  • Control the operation of the analyzers, signaling of malfunctions, required maintenance, and the ability to assist in system troubleshooting
  • Monitor the lab processes and the registration of data in the lab information management system (LIMS)
  • Prepare the analysis, instrument devices and the sample according to the procedure
  • Accurately document the lab work performed
  • Assist with data interpretation
  • Adhere to laboratory’s quality control policies (GCP, CAP/CLIA, ISO) and document all quality control activities accurately, systematically and with the ability to recognize outliers and correct them
  • Manage inventory levels and supply ordering within the department
  • Disposes of hazardous chemical wastes per regulatory guidelines


  • Essential that the applicant possess a precise detail-orientated mind that can function in a team environment, as well as, independently of direct supervision
  • Fluent with computer programs, such as, Word, Excel, and databases and are willing to acquire new skills
  • Present with a flexible, enthusiastic attitude, and a decisive mind towards work
  • Preferred: Previous experience in Molecular laboratory with Next Generation Sequencing is a plus; experience working in a CRO environment would be beneficial
