Position Summary

The Assay Development Unit is responsible for the optimization and validation of high-quality (single and multiplex) IHC, RISH, FISH, and CTC assays for use in clinical trials. As an Associate Assay Development Scientist, you will collaborate with the Assay Development team and other internal stakeholders (such as Laboratory Operations, QA, RA, and the Clinical Sample Testing Unit) throughout all stages of the development and validation process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Assay Development team throughout all phases of a project, including start-up, experimental design, scheduling, tracking development and validation activities, evaluating immunohistochemically stained images, data analysis, and report preparation
• Coordinate the smooth transition of scheduled experiments to the laboratory. While this role does not include hands-on experimental work, it plays a key role in supporting laboratory execution
• Engage proactively with internal stakeholders to ensure clear, timely, and transparent communication
• Anticipate potential issues, provide regular updates, and collaborate effectively to meet project-specific objectives
• Ensure compliance with relevant quality and regulatory standards for the intended use

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

• Master's degree in Life Sciences (preferably Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Biochemistry)
• Basic knowledge of histology and automated immunohistochemical techniques
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Advanced command of the English language, along with outstanding writing and communication skills
• Ability to rapidly learn and apply knowledge in previously unfamiliar areas
• Excellent organizational skills, including time management, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Demonstrates a high quality of work, including accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness
• Analytical, problem-solving, and results-oriented mindset
• Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, a collaborative mindset, and effective communication skills
